Aims

Three aims of the Inter-Divisional Teaching Commission (IDTC) of the International Union for the History and Philosophy of Science (IUHPS) are:

First, a disciplinary aim: to assist in the better and more informed teaching of history of science and philosophy of science as subjects in universities, and in high schools where appropriate.

Second, an applied aim: to promote the utilisation of history and philosophy of science in university and school science and humanities courses, and especially in programmes for the preparation of science teachers.

Activities (2010)

The DHST-Teaching Commission supported the 1st Latin American Conference of the IHPST Group held during 19-21 August 2010 in Maresias, Sao Sebastiao, Brasil, after the 8th International Conference for the History of Science in Science Education (August 16 to 19, 2010).
